Born in Puerto Vallarta in 1950, Javier Niño decends from Jesus Tovar, one of the original founders of Puerto Vallarta at the beginning of the 19th century. Javier grew up amid the wild tropical fauna of a Vallarta that was still a primitive world of brightly colored birds, armadillos, racoons, iguanas, exotic flowers, the swift Calle River, and the wonderful marine world of Vallarta's bay.

His work is a virtual homage to the nature and the ecology of Vallarta...as Javier says, "My inspiration is and always will be Puerto Vallarta". His paintings have been exhibited in leading magazines and on television throughout North America, and has been acquired by art collectors from around the world. Javier is currently the director of the cultural program "The Flavor of Vallarta" on the national radio network ACIR.
